A few ideals that resonate with me are as follows:
1. II. PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND PREPARATION

We shall continually be aware of issues challenging the field of early childhood special education and advocate for changes in laws, regulations, and policies leading to improved outcomes and services for young children with disabilities and their families. (The Division for Early Childhood, 2000)
Significance: As stated in my discussion post this week, learning about policies and regulations is something that I have set as a goal for myself in the future. I would like to be well-versed in many areas, but right now I am very interested in the realm of special education. I have had several students in special education, and I would like to advocate for them as best I can.
2. III. RESPONSIVE FAMILY CENTERED PRACTICES
#4. We shall advocate for equal access to high quality services and supports for all children and families to enhance their quality of lives. (The Division for Early Childhood, 2000)
Significance: I feel that as early childcare providers, we should have the utmost desire for each and every one of our children to succeed. Each child should have the right to a high quality program regardless of what their parents can or cannot afford. Our goal should be for every child to gain the knowledge they need in order to be successful in later years - academically, socially, emotionally, and physically.
3. Section I: ETHICAL RESPONSIBILITIES TO CHILDREN
I-1.8—To support the right of each child to play and learn in an inclusive environment that meets the needs of children with and without disabilities. (NAEYC, 2005)
Significance: I am a firm believer in the importance of play. I feel that through play, children learn, develop, and grow. In an inclusive environment, children are free to play while also feeling accepted and loved by one another. This is extremely important in the development of children.
